According to the Ministry of Health, individuals identified as medically vulnerable* are at increased risk of severe COVID-19.1,2 This includes:

  • Elderly (aged 60 and above)1 
  • People who have concurrent medical conditions like diabetes, and chronic heart, lung or kidney diseases, among others.2

During the peak of the previous wave in December 2023, the incidence rate of COVID-19 hospitalisations and ICU admissions in Singapore among seniors aged 60 years and above was 25% higher in those who had not kept their vaccination updated versus those who had.3
